Sanjivan Kohli, MD

Sanjivan Kohli, MD Dr. Sanjivan Kohli is the Medical Director of Be Well Collaborative Care, who oversees the quality assurance aspect of patient care and ensures the successful synergy of our multidisciplinary healthcare providers.

Dr. Sanjivan Kohli is a pulmonologist, who is currently affiliated with multiple hospitals in the Orange County area, including Long Beach Memorial Medical Center and Mission Hospital. Dr. Kohli received his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Dr. Kohli currently specializes in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Critical care.


Soroush Zaghi, MD

Otolaryngology & Sleep

SoroushZaghi, MD Dr. Zaghi graduated from Harvard Medical School and completed a 5-year residency training in Head and Neck Surgery at UCLA. He completed Sleep Surgery Fellowship as Clinical Instructor of Otolaryngology at Stanford University. The focus of his specialty training is on Sleep Endoscopy, CPAP Optimization, Myofunctional Therapy, Frenuloplasty, Nasal Surgery, Throat Surgery, and Maxillofacial Surgery for the treatment of nasal obstruction, snoring, upper airway resistance syndrome, and obstructive sleep apnea. He is very active in clinical research relating to sleep disordered breathing with over 50 peer-reviewed journal articles relating to neuroscience, head and neck surgery, and obstructive sleep apnea.


Gary Feldman, MD

Gary Feldman, MD Dr. Feldman received his bachelor of medicine and surgery degree from the University of Cape Town School of Medicine in South Africa. He completed his residency in pediatrics at Red Cross Children's Hospital and University of Cape Town in South Africa and worked in primary care pediatrics for five years prior to moving to the United States in 1999. He completed a fellowship in developmental and behavioral pediatrics and simultaneously trained in sleep medicine at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital and Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio. He has 16 years of experience treating sleep disorders in children, especially those with special needs such as autism, developmental delays and genetic disorders. Dr. Feldman is able to manage the behavioral, medical, and breathing related aspects of sleep disorders. His treatment paradigm is to provide big-picture solutions for children with sleep conditions. One of his catch phrases is, “children who don’t sleep well, don’t behave and learn well. Their sleep difficulties have a direct impact on the quality of life of other family members”. He is of the opinion that for appropriate and definitive treatment, a multidisciplinary approach is often necessary.


Andrew Lee, MD

Pediatrics

Andrew Lee, MD Dr. Lee completed his undergraduate studies at Stanford University. At Stanford, he obtained his degree in Computer Science with a minor in Biology (Class of 2000). Afterwards, he spent half a year volunteering at various community outreach clinics throughout Guatemala, and learning Spanish. He then obtained his medical degree at Washington University in St. Louis, one of the top-ranked medical schools in the U.S. Dr. Lee completed internship and residency training at Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), and received the prestigious Merle J. Carson (“Resident of the Year”) Award for Excellence at his graduation.

Dr. Lee believes that the best medical care for children comes from a personalized approach, where families and children actually get to know their pediatrician, have access to the doctor, and see the same doctor as they grow up. Within the medical field, Dr. Lee has a special interest in treating children with asthma and eczema, and has also undergone extensive additional training to treat children with attention problems (ADHD) and mood/behavior disorders.


Deepak Shrivastava, MD

Deepak Shrivastava, MD Dr. Deepak Shrivastava received his Sleep Medicine education and training from Stanford University. Dr. Shrivastava is also board certified in Sleep Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Polysomnographic Technology. Currently, Dr. Shrivastava serves as Chief of Sleep, Critical Care and Pulmonary Services at San Joaquin General Hospital. Additionally, Dr. Shrivastava holds two academic positions. He is currently a Professor of Internal Medicine, Sleep Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical Care at the University of California – Davis School of Medicine. Dr. Shrivastava is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the School of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo, California. Dr. Shrivastava is continuously and directly involved in healthcare quality and performance improvement activities.


Karen Cheng, MD

Sleep Medicine & Neurology

Karen Cheng, MD Dr. Karen Cheng is a board certified physician, whose areas of expertise include Sleep Medicine & Neurology. Dr. Cheng is an active member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the American Academy of Neurology, and the California Sleep Society. Dr. Karen Cheng received her Bachelor's degree from Stanford University. After graduating with honors from Stanford University, Dr. Cheng received her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Cheng's residency and internship were completed at the University of California – Irvine. Dr. Cheng's areas of expertise are sleep disorders, such as obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, restless leg syndrome, and REM-sleep behavior disorder. Dr. Cheng currently provides both pediatric and adult sleep medicine consultations and also reviews and interprets polysonogram studies.

Lenore Morrissey, MPT, OCS, CFC. Lenore Filler Morrissey was born and raised in the Los Angeles area. She earned her undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology at Whittier College in 1993. She continued her studies in sciences at San Francisco State, Long Beach State and Louisiana State Universities. Lenore was accepted into the Feinberg School of Medicine Program in Physical Therapy at Northwestern University and graduated with her Masters of Physical Therapy Degree in 1998. Upon returning to California, she worked in a variety of physical therapy settings including pediatrics, home health and inpatient rehabilitation.

While working at Kaiser Permanente in both in and outpatient settings, she was trained in manual physical therapy and achieved her Orthopedic Certified Specialty from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists 2004. Then in 2005, Lenore opened and operated a private outpatient orthopedic physical therapy practice in Rancho Palos Verdes for 11 years. While running her practice, she saw a growing need for expertise in head and neck disorders and airway dysfunction. In 2012 she studied oral myofunctional therapy under Joy Moeller, BS, RDH a leading international instructor in this field. She has recently earned her Certification as a Craniofacial Specialist under the training of renowned expert in craniofacial and temporomandibular disorders, Mariano Rocabado via the University of St. Augustine. She is currently finishing her transitional doctorate in physical therapy with this university. Lenore is a member of the faculty for the Airway Focused Dentistry Mini-Residency. She continues study in craniosacral therapy, myofunctional therapy, capnometry and upper airway disorders to bring an integrated knowledge that is unique in physical therapy. She treats private patients both in Los Angeles and Orange County. Her mantra; “Total body well-being begins with a patent airway in concert with proper alignment and function of the structures of the head, neck and tongue."


Robert Wheeler, DDS

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

Robert Wheeler, DDS Dr. Wheeler received his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Southern California in 1974 and his D.D.S. degree from Northwestern University in 1978. He then spent a year in a hospital dentistry program at U.C. San Francisco. In 1982, Dr. Wheeler completed a 3-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Long Beach VA Medical Center and University of California, Irvine Medical Center.

Dr. Wheeler has been in private practice in the Saddleback Valley since 1983 and has merged with Orange County Centers for Oral Surgery & Dental Implants in 2017. He has been active on the volunteer teaching faculties of both U.C. Irvine Medical School and the Long Beach VA Medical Center. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Dr. Wheeler, along with enjoying dental surgery and Implantology, has a special interest in the correction of sleep apnea. He has taken extensive continuing education in this field and has lectured on this topic to dentists and physicians on numerous occasions.


Terry Wood, RRT

Terry Wood, RRT Terry Wood is a board-certified Biofeedback Practitioner. Terry Wood is a Registered Respiratory Therapist, Registered Sleep Technologist, and a Board Certified Biofeedback Practitioner. In 1993, Mr. Wood approached Dr. George Fuller-Von Bozzay of the Biofeedback Institute of San Francisco, seeking help for a chronic tension headache of 8 years. Within 2 weeks his headaches were reduced to intermittent, and by week 6 they had practically cleared! After his brief, highly successful treatment, Mr. Wood became an enthusiastic student of biofeedback, under Dr. Von Bozzay.

Over the course of our meetings, patients will cultivate and sustain new patterns of well-being. Two to four sessions often produce dramatic improvements. Clients will incrementally master a guided 20-minute practice, specifically designed to reduce tension, and increase inner peace.

Our Administrative Team

Mark A. Cruz, DDS

Mark A. Cruz, DDS Mark A Cruz graduated from the UCLA School of Dentistry in 1986 and started a dental practice in Monarch Beach, CA upon graduation. He has lectured nationally and internationally and is a member of various dental organizations. He was a part-time lecturer at UCLA and member of the faculty group practice and was past assistant director of the UCLA Center for Esthetic Dentistry. He has served on the National institute of Health/NIDCR (National Institute of Dental & Craniofacial Research) Grant review Committee in Washington D.C. as well as on the editorial board for the Journal of Evidence Based Dental Practice (Elsevier) and is currently serving on the DSMB (data safety management board) for the NPBRN (national practice-based research network) .Dr. Cruz is the Chief Executive Officer of Be Well Collaborative Care and is currently one of the most prominent voices in the field of Airway Focused Wellness Solutions.


Mr. Joe DePaolantonio, Chief Strategy Officer

Joe DePaolantonio, Chief Strategy Officer Joe is an effective and skilled leader and has a strong track record of developing teams and creating cultures of success, growth, and empowerment. He has pioneered numerous strategic business solutions in HealthCare, IoT, Energy Management and Sports and Entertainment. Joe has been at Cisco Systems for 19 years working in various business segments as well as leading high performing teams in the merger and acquisition business.

Prior to Cisco, Joe held senior technical and executive management positions at General Dynamics, Digital Equipment Corporation, MCI and Bell Laboratories.

Joe has a master’s degree in electrical engineering, 5 individual industry technology patents and numerous Cisco and other industry certifications.


Ellen P. Crean RDH, MS, DDS, PHD

Ellen Crean, DDS, PhD Dr. Crean is the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Be Well Collaborative Care. She works closely with the physicians, sleep techs, respiratory therapists and the sleep labs, to ensure that optimum clinical outcomes are achieved.

Dr. Crean holds a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene, a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and a PHD in Neurobiology with an emphasis in sleep medicine.

She has lectured nationally on Dental Sleep Medicine, Medical Billing for Dentists, and Collaborative Approaches to Care Between Medicine and Dentistry. Dr. Crean has invested the last 10 years to set up collaborative care networks across the United States in the multidisciplinary approach to wellness. Dr. Crean is also associated with several Universities in their medical and dental patient care clinics. She oversees student and resident experience, patient care management and revenue cycle management.

She consults with organizations on access to care issues and has worked on a recent project to open a 501c3 Dental Clinic for the disabled and special needs patient population.
